Tonight’s track ‘taken just all that I had
But if you want, I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again, but I know
The first cut is the deepest
Baby, I know, the first cut is the deepest’

(Also I cut one of my gardens for the first time this year)

I love coming here and seeing the pics, but today's pics are a real mixed bag of emotions.
Love and hugs to all doggos and their hoomans.
Have to agree with this.

Anyone going through difficulties with their animals - you have my sympathies
Greatul for the kind words from all, certainly did not mean to cause any upset.

Sam enjoying Coniston Water

My boy BC, Lamb, absolutely LOVES the water. He's the only dog I've ever known to just swim for the love of swimming.

Sorry for your loss QBee, what a gorgeous BC.

Don't worry - a lot of us come here for support when we need it. How is Mads today?

We were around a friends house who has 2 spaniels, and they had some real fish treats. Lilly has never had a whole fish. Our friend gave each dog a fish treat each, the 2 spaniels devoured theirs whole with a few chews at the end. Gone in 10 secs or so. Lilly is playing around with her fish and we figure she might not like it....5 mins later she is still tasting and playing with the fish. Finally after about 10 mins she leaves us a present on the floor ....a perfectly deboned fish :

10 mins later

Thank you for asking. To be honest, we’re really struggling. I’ve lost track of how long this episode has gone on for now, perhaps 11 days. It has improved slightly going from generalised seizures to focal seizures.

She’s currently having focal seizures every ~3 hours, 24 hours a day, they last around 30 mins. We have to intervene because it causes her to bite her own front legs until she cries.

We’ve spoken to the vets every day, she’s been back twice for intravenous soliphen on top of a seizure protocol of potassium bromide, soliphen and levitracitam 5 times a day. Tried rectal diazepam also.

But it’s stil not breaking the cycle. I am at a total loss what to do.

Might be worth seeing if there is either a vet referral scheme in your area, or even a Veterinary Medicine School.
I know they have referral schemes/vets for horses, not sure about dogs. I think there are only about 10 vet schools in the country
I have used the Cambridge vet school before now, but I lived close by.

It sounds like time for a more experienced opinion?

Just to add, here's a list of vet schools in the UK:

There are currently 11 vet schools in the UK:

Royal Veterinary College, University of London
University of Cambridge
University of Liverpool
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh
University of Glasgow
University of Bristol
University of Nottingham
University of Surrey
Harper and Keele Veterinary School
The Aberystwyth School of Veterinary Science (in collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College)
University of Central Lancashire

I'm so sorry, that must be really hard to deal with. As suggested above, perhaps a referral (if not already done so)?
