I'm so sorry. They bring such joy to our lives it's so hard when they leave.
I know it's not strictly a picture and I've probably linked it before, but I love The Oatmeal and he wrote this after he lost his dog in exactly the same way. https://theoatmeal.com/comics/dog_paradox
It really does sum them up. Of encourage anyone to spend five minutes reading it.
Thanks for everyone's kind words. I don't think I quite realised how recognisable Misty was amongst all the other wonderful dogs.

Made me smile that. We used to refer to horse beasts a lot with Murphy. https://theoatmeal.com/comics/dog_paradox

I had a small parcel this morning, a friend has sent me a candle thats inscribed 'in memory of murphy'. When his ashes come home I'll put it with him and light it. Bit delicate today.

(videos, clicky click)
The 'look at how cute I am' maneuver. She'd actually tug at your trousers trying to con a treat out of you.
And then go bury it if it was too big to eat in one go...
My dog used to do the whole burying process. The 'look at how cute I am' maneuver. She'd actually tug at your trousers trying to con a treat out of you.
And then go bury it if it was too big to eat in one go...
Then immediately go back and eat it once it was ‘safe’
Hope you are holding up.

That's a lovely shot, let sleeping dogs lie they say. Which one is the boss? Certainly is in my house.
33 kg, 3 year old Lab/collie Marley dutifully waits for his elder and better, 16 year old 17 kg Spaniel Sky, to decide they are going out for a wee before he makes a move, busting or not.
Fortunately, she has a weaker bladder than him.
