Rehoming a dog - seemingly impossible
Discussion
Guys,
I have to say we are totally overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. We have been inundated with gifts! Thank you so, so, much!
Teddy will have a great life here, it was a no brainer to step up for such a lovely big chap. The alternative was totally unthinkable.
Once we pick him up in a couple of weeks, we will post up pics galore.
Once again, thank you all so much for your kind wishes and generosity.
My wife seems to have left off the All Blacks bandana and collar from the list...

All good. Teddy is on his way.
For those of you who might wish to buy him a housewarming present, my wife has set up a thing on Amazon. There is no pressure though, we just thought it would be a nice thing for Teddy.

It's anonymous apparently.

What a great story.
I started reading the thread and (before knowing the outcome) was about to chime in with "he's difficult to rehome because he's too big for most homes" but I guess JBS has that covered so, as my wife is often keen to say about her single friends, "for every lock there's a key!"
Looking forward to seeing some pics of him settled into his new abode.

We have 8 cats. It's Teddy that is going to discover they are quite prickly!
I too read the first couple of pages, then skipped to the end, fearing the worst, fooking brilliant. My old fella I spotted on an Irish classified sight, year old, fearing him ended up as a bait dog, and saying 6 years earlier never again, off I went.
flew to Dublin, borrowed a 1 litre Corsa, off to Galway.
They opened the door, the dog took off, took 30 minutes or so to get him in the car, the door closed as soon as he took off.
So, there I am, back in Dublin, with an unknown, untrained, lunatic of a dog, and no idea how toget him home lol.
2k and a week later, I am the owner of an old Sprinter, an unknown motor and a lunatic dog, that attacked anyone in a hi vis or a hat. I bought a harness in an effort to control him, it lasted 5 minutes, just shreds on the lawn.
12 years later, still a bloody nuisance, I had to get an iva test on the van, which they tried to fail on headlights wired to the ignition, so the band that owned it did not forget to switch on after the pub gig lol, my safety argument won.
turned out a fantastic dog, and the old van sold for 3.5k.
