My main coon (sorry no picture) is currently looking like a patch work quilt.
Actually she is a total mess after being hit by a car a couple of weeks ago. What started as a broken pelvis (which was bad enough) has now developed into a crush injury which has caused severe tissue death over her right kidney area. She has had a load of skin cut away + fatty tissue as a result she has a huge hole on her back (currently covered by a body bandage) It can get better as long as we keep infection at bay and avoid septicaemia. It is going to take a long time, luckily she seems very bright so far.
So can all four legged furries on this thread wish her all the best for a full recovery...she needs it!
(testing my vet nursing skills aswell work all day and work all night at the mo! and in the vets on my days off!)

sorry to hear that. all the best.personally i think main coons are superb and easily the brightest of the pet cats out there. i was training all the cats in the house to use the toilet, and if it was just molly we'd long be there by now. but the other 2 indoor cats are dumb idiots, so we've only got as far as a small litter bowl in the bowl of the toilet. (spare toilet).
you can tell molly is brighter than the others when you play with the red laser dot on the floor. she'll chase the dot, as will the other dumb muppets, but she understands that the dot comes from the device in your hand, so when you stop she'll ask you to carry on making the red dot.

I know, we have 3 moggies as well, they all have their own characters but Lucy just oozes stature, she will sit up really straight just waiting for you to feed her, she'll play, accept fuss, grooming etc but all in a very dignified manner. We were so lucky to get her and we are now very lucky that we had her insured. We had planned to have her as an indoor cat (thats what she was at her first home) but she went stir crazy, she's been with us for 2 years at the same house without incidence.

Did the Lion eat your cat?
i joked with MsT about the price of the shearing. was it hourly or set price? figured if it was set price we were definitely up on the deal. she said it would cost between $70 and $95 depending on the co-operative nature of the cat, but was prepared for a $400 bill. to be honest, I was prepared for the worst - death and serious injury on the part of the shearers and their staff.but, it cost $55 in the end. i can only assume that they took one look at her and her claws, and probably the first swipe and dosed her out of tiny little mind.
