Scraggy started having to really work at breathing. So he's had 120ml of fluid drained from around his lungs which has helped overnight, and he's up for ultrasound this morning to get a good look around the heart.

Hopefully we just need to adjust his medication....

Anyway here's a recent photo where I caught Scraggy on the sofa and Alan both at the ideal moment....

Not brilliant news. The fluid has returned and he's got a bit bitey with the staff. So sedation will have to be used for the ultrasound/x-ray, and he's almost been lost under sedation once so.... And the options are not great. Heart failure or a growth suspects for the cause. Either's not exactly ideal.

Paws crossed it's something we can do something about...

Scraggy returns! Over £900 later... Thanks Mr Insurance company. smile

He's now on a full Furosemide tablet 3 times a day. Up from 1/2 a tablet twice a day.

We have a new drug, and we continue with the Felimazole and the Semintra.

Back to the vet on tuesday and if the fluid has returned that's the end....

Aptly named!

Glad you've got at least a little more time with him.

I'm guessing it's steak for his supper tonight wink

Good effort - I see your box cat and raise you waste bin cat. She was asleep in the bin but the flash woke her up.

Mrs SC saw your picture and was inspired to paint her in pastels, hope you don't mind. She would like to know your cat's name, too, so she can name the painting (although I suppose 'waste bin cat' would do smile)

That's awesome. She's really captured the 'spirit' of the cat.

Mrs SC would like to show it at the local art show which is at the end of May. After that, she will send it to you and you can send a donation to Cats Protection. PM me the address you would like it sent to.

She hasn't done up til now, she does sell an occasional painting at the show put on by the local artists' group. She hasn't considered commissions previously because working in gouache as she normally does it takes too long, no-one would want to pay for that many hours. Pastels is a new thing for her and seems to have worked very well, so she may consider commissions in the future.

Millie (waste bin cat) turned out well and in a reasonable length of time, she's started on another feline subject and if that goes just as well then I expect she will indeed do commissions if she's asked, feline subjects only though.

...gouache...
I had to google that! biggrin

I hadn't even considered an artist would charge by the hour as it were, strange really as just about every other profession does!

Would definately be interested in having a pastel of one of our three (the missus' fave rolleyes).

It is a good painting.

Mrs SC should seriously consider charging for them.
