  • warning* slightly graphic content ahead

We know the cat that did it as ours has had a few run-ins with him before resulting in a couple of lost canine teeth amongst other injuries. Aside from the vet bills, I don't like my cat suffering. So how do I broach the subject of this other cat not being neutered with his owner, without going ballistic & demanding he cut his balls off (the cat's, not the owner's!)?

I'd rather put my hand in a fire than tangle with one of them.

I think your chance of making any worthwhile progress with the owner is very slim indeed. In fact, I don't think I would even mention it to him, because if you did, and someone unknown was to catch the tom and take it to a vet to be castrated, he would immediately suspect that it was you.

Yeah I had considered that option but....

1. I doubt we'd catch him. He's gone as soon as he senses any activity from the house.

2. I wouldn't want to try blagging the vet if they scan him and find his details.

TBH his owner is a nice enough guy and not having spoken to him about this latest incident yet, I would say he's unaware of the effects of neutering cats.

Beautiful, powerful animals. Rarer than tigers.

Almost certain to go extinct in the wild by the 2020s, due to domestic-cat interbreeding and diminishing habitat / prey frown

Here's Grady Gilbert being a nosey cat, he leapt up on the sofa to investigate my new crash helmet - I don't think he found it that exciting...
