Our cats were found in a box in the garden at about 3 weeks old. This was 5th November 2012.
OH nursed them, rehomed 4 and kept 2.
They are scared of their own shadows! We can be around them with no problem (now) but any visitors and they will hide very effectively.
They still seem quite feral and will rarely sit on our laps and keep themselves to themselves.
Their biggest problem is noise! A slight rustle of a carrier bag and they will disappear for an hour or two. A creaky sofa will have the same effect!
However, if I send anything to the printer (which is quite a noisy one) or feed the paper shredder (very loud!) they are instantly there, watching where the paper is going!
And to add to their weirdness, they will accept us, sit next to us on the sofa, lay next to us on the bed but once we move our feet they are gone again! It's as if they don't know our feet are attached to us!

All cats seem to be fascinated by printers.

One drop of water lands on them from the sink - runs away like they've got a firework up their bum
Tipping down with rain outside - goes for a 10 minute walk then comes back meowing until you towel dry him
Anyone else's cat display similar logic?
Yes - in fact our eldest cat seems to quite like the rain. Comes back in completely bedraggled (she's a Birman) and loves a rub dry. The younger Birman will play with the stream from a running tap for ages, unless a drip flicks back onto her. Then, off like a shot.Tipping down with rain outside - goes for a 10 minute walk then comes back meowing until you towel dry him

Siberians are great with water. Just watch out when you have a bath - ours have been known to jump in while the bath is filling. They love to drink running water from a tap, and don't care how wet they get - then leave wet paw prints all over the floor.
