Shira the Toyger (real breed)
edit : Just over a year old and 5kg. Only eats protein - no cat food whatsoever.
A ridiculous bundle of pent up energy.
She plays fetch as much as she can. Her favourite is "feather" - which is a plastic stick with a string and a long gone peacock feather. She loves retrieving it from whether it is thrown and then depositing in the wife's slipper!!!

a slightly belated 'goodbye' to Sasha:
A week ago I got that horrible phonecall from the vet that they had identified him from his chip. Run over earlier that evening.
I know we all think ours are the best, but he was an exceptional cat: the most talkative, attentive and sociable beast you could wish for. His darker side was a hunting rate I've never seen before: I suspect the local mouse population is bouncing back from his predations already!
Very sadly missed. Thankfully his sister seems to be adjusting after a couple of days of confusion of 'where is he?'

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. But i have a very special set of skills that allow me to find people like you. I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you.

Not mine. This...
...is "Basil". He's next door's cat, but they seem to have decided that he's an 'outdoor cat' and he doesn't seem to like the kids, either. So he spends large parts of his day sloping around my garden, 'nesting' under various bushes and shrubs according to where the sun has warmed the earth.
He's no real bother, except for munching his way through the wild bird population, but I feel sorry for him, especially when I see him sitting forlornly, staring into next door through the patio doors, mewing pathetically. I don't think Basil got the memo, regarding his new status as an outdoor cat.
I know it's a year old post, but does Basil need a home? He looks almost exactly like our old ginger boy, also called Basil by the rescue centre, who went to sleep 13 months ago today. I'd take him....is "Basil". He's next door's cat, but they seem to have decided that he's an 'outdoor cat' and he doesn't seem to like the kids, either. thank you and the others who have made similar comments, it is appreciated. His sister seems to be doing well on adjusting, actually coming out of her shell a bit. She's spending most evenings on the sofa between us - something she used to have to compete with him for!
After a couple of months to see how she progresses and adapts; it is inevitable that we'll be looking for another companion (or two) for her/us.
