It is a long story and I won't bore you with it (unless you really want me to) but we thought as a final solution we could get one of those camera things and then we wouldn't need to keep running up and down stairs 20 times a day, we could just see when he was heading home and go and get him. To be honest, I'm not sure I would be happy with a door being left open on a block of flats I was living in. What floor do you live on? When I lived on the ground floor, I had a cat flap device thing that went in a window, giving the cat access, but kept out the cold, etc. worked very well indeed.

I agree but the thing is we have lived there for seven years and own our home. There are no security doors, there is a big door and a tiny side door that only a cat or dog can fit through. All the occupants in the flats have always agreed with the door being open (only when the cat is out). The door gets closed all day when the cat is in and we are at work (from 7:30 till 6:00pm). We then open it for a couple of hours to let the cat out and as soon as he is in we close it. We have never had any problems with this and neither do the neighbours. It also gets closed when the weather is bad. But the reason we keep it open when he is out is because we are two up and can't see or hear him when he wants in so we have to keep running up and down the stairs every half an hour or so to check for him. Anyway, this **"££hole has decided that the cat is not to get in at all and practically parks his arse at the door 24/7. He goes in and out his own door about 17 times a day and night just to make sure it is closed. It is very very frustrating and he will not talk to us so we can come to an arrangement. Hence we thought if we got a wee camera thing then the door can stay closed 24/7 and fud will be happy. He is a sub let tennant and doesn't own his property and has lived there six months and started this carry on from day one. The steam is coming out my ears now just at the thought of him. But yes, I understand where you are coming from because I lived in a ground floor flat before and I always left my window open for the cat to come and go. We also have a cat flap fitted on our door so he can get out into the landing.

You need the pet version of the 'Loc8tor'. About £60 or so. I have a Loc8tor tag on Bob's collar, and he's quickly learned to associate the thing beeping with the fact that I need him home.
Plus it's a lot more discreet than calling him in when that call could attraction the attention of my neighbour's unruly dogs (whom he hates.)

Handed back Buzz and Woody to their owner today. I am going to miss them, especially Buzz who had developed a habit of following me everywhere and always wanting affection. On the other hand, I can go to sleep with my fingers and toes outside the duvet without fear of them getting nommed, and I can have the windows open since they are no longer a potential escape route

Wish I'd kept those boxed SNES games I owned in my childhood. That way I would be paying the insane prices they now command. At the moment I only have a Wii controller, since Nintendo UK have claimed it's "awaiting parts" for 6 f
king weeks now.
