She always looks grumpy, must just be the eyes. But she is so chilled and happy, constantly purring and wanting attention

Sorry for your loss. My Son had the heart breaking job of ringing the owner of a Cat he saw killed on Wednesday night. He saw the cat trying to cross the road and made sure he safety avoided it. The driver in the Taxi behind him seemingly could not be bothered and killed it instantly. He stayed until they arrived and took it home to be buried. He was furious and the Taxi driver was lucky he couldn't catch him.

Sadly my cat Charlie died last Thursday evening, he was only five.

I am not sure what happened to him, he either fell off the roof, or was run over, there were not really any marks on him. I found him dead on the drive.

He was a great cat, and will be sadly missed.

His sister doesn't seem to be coping too well.

She has always lived with other cats, and seems to be lost without him.

I am not sure if she would be happier with another male younger cat living with her, or living on her own? She does not get on well with the neighbours cats, and always treated Charlie as her own offspring, letting him eat first, and letting him get fuss, as a priority etc.

Any advice would be welcome.
I'm very sorry for your loss. We rescued a mother and daughter pair around 10 years ago. In April we lost the daughter suddenly through illness. We thought the mother wouldn't cope very well and did consider getting another one but I'm glad we didn't. She was a bit lost for the first week but since then she's been so much happier than she ever was. It has made me think that even though cats might seem happy in pairs or groups, really they might be better as solitary animals with no fighting for domination. I would give it at least a month before considering introducing a new cat.

So I rescued this this morning:

One stunning looking Bengal. Apologies for poor pic.

He was sat in the road next to the kerb, not moving as cars were going past beeping their horns at him. So I stopped to try and at least move him but he darted under the nearest parked car. Having seen he didn't look in the best of health I nipped home for a tub of treats to tempt him out and before I even had them out of my pocket he'd come out from under the car and was whinging that I wasn't getting the lid off quickly enough! He was properly ravenous but seemed to be having a bit of trouble swallowing them, so that, combined with the fact he was dangerously underweight and was obviously a bit delirious meant taking him to the vet was the only option.

Vet checked him over to find he had jaundice and was generally unwell so they took him in.

They called me a few hours later to say he was chipped, but the person on the chip had sold him to someone in my area a while ago and that person hadn't bothered updating the chip's details! Honestly, who wouldn't do that for a normal moggy, let alone a Bengal?! Anyways, this woman only had an email address for the current "owner" so waiting to see if they claim him. Otherwise we may well end up with a free Bengal! biggrin Always wanted one, just hope the other three don't got stroppy about it! hehe

He may well have escaped & the new owner frantic. Updating chips isn't the easiest of processes, even when just moving house!

Dead right it isn't! It's a rip-off in my view. Costs nearly as much as re-chipping.

Had our cat re-chipped, didn't make a scrap of difference, in fact, the economy was even worse.

Alfie is coming up 11 months old. Pity I couldn't get many good pictures of him when he was younger, but he just wouldn't keep still! And the iPhone isn't the camera to be using when taking pictures of a hyper little Bengal.

Don't ask why I've taken so many pictures. Bored and he's just too photogenic!

He loves a beer bottle top almost as much as I enjoy giving them to him.

I wish I'd taken a photo, but I saw a couple walking a beautiful pair of Bengals in the outskirts of Swindon Tuesday night.

Anyone else walk their cats? (My moggies enjoy a turn around the block with me and small child, and a gin, on a Friday night! I am mad cat woman. )
