Went to the local dogs trust yesterday to see what they had as the OH and I will be looking for another dog when I move in with her later this year, as much as anything to let me understand how the process works (Sash, the oh's alsation is from there)

Met this beautiful girl, she is 2 years old and called Alaska

I would love to have her, but at the time its not fair on the oh to have 2 dogs to look after on her own when im not around as I am not allowed pets where I live.

Im pining for her, so had to put a pic up!

Titan 4 posibly 5 years old was baught from the local pound for £40. the pound new nothing of his history.
sadly he can not have pupys but he makes a good dad to Keva's litter of 7.
He loves to swim and stays in the lake for hours.
Keva is a pure Rottweiler her dad is IRCO who is the top dog at Crufts.
I have a great video of Titan and Keva playing in the grass. but I have no idea of how to upload it to Pistonheads.
picture (1)is of titan swimming and keva showing off for the camera.
picture (2) Titan being Titan

Goodness me, that's a dangerously good-looking dog... I actually looked at your profile to see if it was anywhere near me, so I could go and get her! (Despite not being allowed another dog!)

cloud9 Ozzy! I remember the "I've just picked this tiny fellow up" pictures of that little chappy!

We had a Rottie when we first got married, when we had to have him put down 15 years ago MOH said never again as we couldn't guarantee you would get one as good.

One look at this picture and I can see him wavering hehe

Is that the Dog's Trust near Canterbury?

We were on a walk with the Surrey Shepherd Rescue yesterday and one of the kennels turned up with a dog just like Alaska.

Karyn, she is isn't she! gorgeous, a little flightly and independant in many ways, but you could tell she wasnt used to being loved... Don't tell the OH this, but I would move in tomorrow if it meant I could get her!

Cappo, thats the one mate. She has been there a month according to their paperwork, but as I dont know the operation of a place like that, I have no idea what was going on!

May have to pop back next weekend, see if she is still there smile

Just showed her pic to the OH... he said, "when we live in a massive house, you can have as many dogs as you want. Just not now!" I think we should get together, then get Alaska! wink

It's official though... just need to move house (again), and I can rescue all the lovely dogs I see! hehe

Hi All,
Back in April 2010, we lost our golden cocker spaniel; Rory. We posted on here and had some lovely responses which meant so much to us. Our other cocker spaniel; Lucy (Black & white) was so down after losing Rory we got her a buddy sooner than we ever thought possible, his name is Barney! They seem to get along well, but I will let you be the judge! Thank you for all the kind responses.

My Lab's back legs aren't as willing to carry him as far as they once were

Border Collie X doesn't wait for anyone

Visited the gardens at Stowe yesterday, this temple of British worthies was built to house the busts of those considered worthy of going to heaven. Including Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I,  John Milton, Sir Christopher Wren, Sir Isaac Newton. A tribute to 17 in all.

16 busts and then this at the back

Made me cry.

This is Humphrey, my Pug, he is now 10 and we've had him from a pup.

Sadly he now has a proplem with his back, I can't remember what it's called but the lower discs in his back crumble and crush the spinal cord so he has no feeling in his back legs. They work to a fashion however he can only really walk about the house as he doesn't know what they are doing. He was dignosed in February and they vets said he was unikely to see the Summer and whilst it wont kill him his quality of life will deteriorate and we will need to to the kind thing.

However all is not lost my wife found some doggy wheels on the internet and he loves them and means he can still go for walks with his back legs supported, we were actively discussing at the beginning of the Summer having him put down as he was so miserable being unable to walk and looked so un happy, but with the wheels he is a new dog and is visibly happier and much more healthy looking.
