I can't see my bearded dragon lasting long in the wild, he'd just go to sleep under the sun hehe
Ha, mine too. He'd just lie there waiting for a Locust to jump into his gob!

That's really impressive, don't suppose he needed much food though and spent a lot of the year tucked away hibernating.

A couple of years ago we were looking (not very well) after two terrapins. They escaped from the pen I made in the garden. One was brought back a month later by a neighbour having been found basking in the middle of the road, the other turned up the following spring (8 months later) in another neighbours garden.

Makes you wonder what else there might be living out there.

Not exactly wild when it has been living in their own back garden for all that time!

At least a corn snake is not likely to impact on the wildlife too much, if you have chickens it's probably doing a great job keeping the mice down!

My old boss lost an iguana into their back garden for almost 3 momths and it survived, I can't remember how but they did eventually manage to catch it again.

Not wishing to be a party pooper, but isn't releasing non-indigenous species into the wild an offence against the Wildlife and Countryside Act? What if he meets a lady corn snake and they nreed? Not good news?

It is almost frowned upon as much as posting on a thread before reading it...

I did read the thread before posting ??? and very heart warming it is too.

The Cornsnake is a North American species. It is not indigenous to the Uk and an offence is commited on releasing it into the wild. I was simply concerned that the OP may not realise he was commiting an offence then posting about his actions on PH.

So I don't understand your problem.
