1st tank wth Oscars, Parrots, Convicts & Crayfish
Rope fish in 2nd (community) tank
Anyone know what this type of "shark" is called, I have had a few in the past and have grown quite large.
I've always thought them to be "dolphin shark" but nothing seems to come up in google.
Got a small tank with a few of these little guys in it
wow fantastic tanks you have there love the big Chiclids Rope fish in 2nd (community) tank

the unidentified Cats are pangasius catfish
Some beautiful looking fish here!
I have a 350L Juwel, and I am currently running in (since Feb) and external wet/dry Eheim filter. I also have the standard external filter ready to repalce the internal one with when the wet/dry has matured nicely.
I have a community tank that has been set up for about two years, the fish are all happy, although I keep guppies, and my male to female ratio is currently a bit off whack, resulting in some nipped tails, but nothing major.
I also have cherry barbs, golden barbs, cardinal tetras, zebra danios, rainbow fish, many guppies, a lonely molly and two gibby (plecs).
I am just looking for a pic and then I will pop one on.

+1 very good looking set-up
Thanks both.I am looking to set up a smaller tank just for the guppy/livebearer population. For no reason other than the bigger fish are getting bigger, and they are not. This would make everyone a little happier.
I am hoping to get a few more rainbow fish in there, but between them and the barbs, the guppies will be more like food than tank mates!
Nice.
Have you considered adding some sort of centre piece fish? I'd have suggested something like an angel, festivum, keyhole cichlid or a rainbow cichlid (the latter being my favourite) but I suspect the cardinals would fit in their mouths (certainly in the case of angels - they're a well known snack for adult angels.) Possibly one of the bigger gourami - pearl perhaps?
And I'd think about adding some hatchet fish for a bit of depth - whilst fairly bland colourwise, they are one of the most interestingly shaped fish and they spend all their time right at the top of the tank (which means you have movement at all levels.) I wasn't too sure about mine prior to adding them (granted, in a smaller tank) but I'm really glad I did.

Rams are cracking little fish, really full of personality. If I turn around in my chair now I can guarantee my pair of GBR's will be up at the tank glass to have a nosy at what's going on. IME they do need good water quality - minimum of 25% water changes weekly, and good filtration - but they're worth the effort. Bolivian Ram's are a good, less colourful but more hardy alternative.
And don't listen to the rubbish about low pH or high temps - important for breeding perhaps, but I've always kept healthy GBR's in a pH ranging from 7.8 to 8.4 and temp of 24C. I've always found a steady pH and good water quality are the only two things that affect their stress levels.

I might have to look into them. I care not out any fish in without doing some reading, but I have to say I don't know much about rams. And don't listen to the rubbish about low pH or high temps - important for breeding perhaps, but I've always kept healthy GBR's in a pH ranging from 7.8 to 8.4 and temp of 24C. What are they like as a community fish?
As for the water changes, it's done every week 25% as well as vacuuming the gravel. I'm sure my Molly produces most of the waste!

Rams are peaceful
They are.... They can get a little territorial, mine ventures around the tank but always stops at 'his' plant..never aggresive but will give a little chase away, never seen mine nipping at any other fish... He is also the smallest fish I have, but is pretty brave and doesn't take any st from any of the bigger fish.I like them alot, plenty of character!

Very. Took us ages to get hold of them, because we will now only buy fish from one trusted local supplier and we kept missing them being in stock
I know that feeling - it takes me about an hour to drive to my LFS (despite passing about 6 on the way) as it's the only place I trust, and their fish stock is very very good. Very pricey but generally worth it.Few of my faves
My hoplo cat, only had him a few weeks, he is a rather handsome fish though
Silver shark, very nervous he is, there was 2 of them but 1 died sadly
Asian sun cat, big fker
One of my angel fish, have 3 in total
[url]
Last but not least, my albino rainbow shark, my oldest fish, had him for about a year now, not very photgenic though
O/T but I'm after a 4ft bare tank with a lid in the Gtr Manchester area anyone selling one please let me know.

Some nice pic's
I'd seriously think about rehoming the silver shark, they're skittish at the best of times which is why they should be kept in bigger groups (around 5-6) and in no less than a 6ft tank (though when fully mature they'll need more than that). They are a tank buster given their eventual size (over a foot) which is why so many end up getting rehomed. This is one of those fish I really wish were only sold by specialist retailers - they just aren't suitable for most aquaria. On another note, my SA cichlid tank was just about ready to have some photo's taken with the final stocking all sorted and settled in, when my Sajica died. Had him for 2 years and he was a fantastic character, really don't know how I'll replace him.
