Car Hire Malaga
Discussion
I asked the same question recently.

Here's a copy/paste of what I ended up doing
Makes them €43 cheaper than Carlos but double the excess.... What to do!!
After the Berlingo with 2 boosters and 1 baby seat BTW.To bring this thread to a thrilling conclusion....
Booked a Berlingo (or similar) from hellehollis for somethign like £185 for the week (inc car seats).
Then went to http://www.direct-carexcess.co.uk/ via the moneysaving expert site and got 8 days cover for less than £14.
Sorted.

used by myself and other PH'ers, they are very good and meet you at the airport
You can't beat Carlos! He will always help you out if he can.used by myself and other PH'ers, they are very good and meet you at the airport
His office is a short walk from our villa, great guy.
Fuel "policy" is bring it back roughly the same as on collection.
Excess is €240 but no credit card taken etc (they paid cash and there was no deposit asked for in advance). For the minimal cost (and she can be a bit rough with things) I got her to take the excess insurance mentioned above anyway.

We use Goldcar.
Cheap as chips at <€10/day for a shopping trolley (if you decline all the add-ons), but can be a very big queue to pick the car up.
No kidding ! We spent over 2 hours queueing for Goldcar at Malaga Airport a few weeks back - OK, it was a Saturday so there were a lot of flights coming in, but the main problem was that people in front seemed to be taking objection to and arguing over the 'extras' that Goldcar charge (ie pay for fuel up front, return empty; insurance to cover the excess, etc).Cheap as chips at <€10/day for a shopping trolley (if you decline all the add-ons), but can be a very big queue to pick the car up.
We put loads of miles on our hire cars so we have no problem with either - fully expect to pay for fuel and insurance at the desk.
The guy behind the counter looked to be at breaking point by the time we eventually got to him. Still, we were extremely polite and patient and, probably as a result, we were offered free upgrades from 2 Ford Focus class cars to a Qashqai and Hyundai iX35 - almost made the wait worthwhile.
We'll use Goldcar again but not on a Saturday and will probably book direct such that we can [try to] make use of the Express desk.
just back 2 weeks ago I've used http://www.brunoscar.com/. twice now Got it with 1/4 of a tank dropped it of with the same amount.

I didn't say I wouldn't but, after having been very happy with Goldcar over the past few years, I don't really have any desire to go elsewhere.
Thanks. I probably phrased that wrongly - perhaps should have asked "why would you even consider using GoldCar again?"I have to say that when charged with sorting out a hire car for my daughter's trip I dismissed Gold Car very quickly based on far too many horrendous reviews. The wait time you had isn't unusual.
Waiting 2hrs+ in inconceivable - that's the same as the flight time! While you were standing in the queue she'd driven to her apartment (75mins away), unpacked and was in the pool.
She called in this morning and is very pleased with how it all worked, and she thought the price was good too compared to what she'd been looking at so I'm grateful for the steer from PH.
