His own taxes are being used to keep today's old people in a piss smelling home. That's the way it works!

And as we're seeing, our taxes aren't really enough to pay for them. More future taxpayers are needed. That and the neutering of benefit scroungers, just to help correct the worker/scrounger imbalance a little for the next generation.

That's settled then. Childless people cannot take holiday to go to the Olympics. Seems only fair. After all, they've made no effort to produce the Olympians of the future!

As a 22 year old with no kids this thread makes me laugh. There's not only holidays to go on in August you know? My birthday is on the 21st. My fiancees on the 26th. So my annual leave days fell from the 17th till the beginning of September this year. I wouldn't have swapped the 2 weeks simply because we will be doing things around our birthdays.
LuSifer, you really are coming across as silly on here. Resorting to childish insults about how somebodys parents should have raised/not raised one of the posters. Step away from the keyboard, it's the internet.

Very good

Personaally I expect to be paying taxes well into retirement, unfortunately it's not something you can opt out of easily.

LuS1fer said: sleep envy said: Seeing as I've stuck to the subject of the OP without having to resort to personal attacks I'd say yes. Unlike yourself who's taken umbrage about being called out having posted nonsensical guff and not answered questions when they've posed.
You've been here a while but you still appear not to have grasped the concept of putting your point accross without insult, are you sure PH is the right place for you? You seem to like arguing to no particular end, is that a personal attack too? I pretty much started this by saying parents shouldn't get priority but it wouldn't harm anyone to be flexible as I have been in the past. That's not priority, it's common courtesy. You also keep trying to be condescending and it's not really having much effect. I've yet to take umbrage about anything. Care to point out why you consider it a personal attack, or indeed where it's personal? If you find it condescending that, again, is your problem to deal with. I suggest you've taken umberage as you have thrown a few insults about. Back to the OP; incorrect, the thing which started it was this; LuS1fer said: There is also an unfair advantage for those without children who can whack in a leave application at a moment's notice. Care to point out why it's an 'unfair' advanatge? What's 'unfair' about it and why should it be made 'fair'?

Solution.
Move the 6 week holiday to Feb / March, then the parents can have first pick of the weeks whilst those of us being responsible and not adding to the over population of the UK can enjoy a summer free of screaming kids.

Everytime I fly with a well known airline I always laugh when they announce that parents with children can board the plane first..... We all get on the same plane & we all take off at the same time!
