We measured it at the shop. It fell within Delta criteria if you want to nose that requirement out. Can measure it this evening. Details not on the web site or I am missing it.

Bought a pair of these for ryan air type flights a few years ago, very light weight as weight is a factor not just size for carry ons on budhet air lines. They are tubular framed and enough space for a weeks light holiday clothes, pretty good quality to boot.

They do a wheely version which shows that is inside those dimensions.

There's an article on the front page of The Scotsman this morning saying that Hungarian budget airline Wizz, whose routes include Prestwick to Poland, is to charge £9 for large hand-luggage but is reducing ticket prices by £4.50.

If this makes money you can be sure that the budget carriers here will be quick to follow suit so I'm holding off renewing my cabin bag for now - if I have to pay for my hand-luggage in future someone else can carry it!

Having a lot of space is only useful if you have a high weight limit. Most airlines now have 15-20kg and any case with wheels is usually more than big enough without exceeding it. I fined on 20kg, you usually have a lot of air still left for your clothes to tumble dry themselves in.
