Road Trip to Haynes Museum and West Country
Discussion
Howdy
Thinking about a few day road trip to the west country, incorporating the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford.
Might also take in the odd pretty Market Town, seaside, English Heritage site, curry, beer.
I'm looking for some inspiration? Any suggestions (including cozy pubs with accommodation & real ale/chips) most welcome.
Cheers

I don't know when it's supposed to be completed, but Haynes is currently being extended. Haven't seen the scheme, but it will hopefully be good. Just so you know, the museum as existing is still open. Enjoy it
Thanks for that. The website does say new section delayed due to unavoidable circumstances. 2 sMoKiN bArReLs said:

I too love stuff like that. National Trust can be a bit hit & miss on opening times after 30th September. It does have some opening times though! http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tyntesfield/

We called in on the way to Plymouth last Sunday (30th). Really good couple of hours. A local m'bike club (about 40) had a meet there at the same time. Everything looked fairly complete, parking for maybe 80 cars? Two shot panorama:
We like the Podimore Arms, near the Fleet Air Arm Museum but it's a bit small for a meet.

the podimore inn has closed down now and is up for sale.if you're going to visit wells you might aswell venture to cheddar for a drive up through the gorge or explore the caves.
