vegas hotels - views please
Discussion
hi all ,
we are 2 couples (mid 30's) looking to hit vegas in september for 5/6 nights
we like our michelin food etc and the "nice" things in life and were wondering which hotel would be the best bet (Considering Bellagio / Wynn / Encore / Cosmopolitan) but please advise others if necessary.
i guess we want to be on the strip and i like a flutter so casino is compulsory!
Also if anyone has any top ideas what to do whilst were there that would be good
Cheers G

My wife (29) and I (35) stayed in a Bellagio Suite at Bellagio in August. It was stunning but if I went back I think I'd go for Cosmopolitan as I really liked the design in there. Encore is just about the newest so probably the most flash. Aria looked quite impressive when we had a wander through it.we are 2 couples (mid 30's) looking to hit vegas in september for 5/6 nights

Mid week deals in most hotels are normally quite good value.
You don't need to resident at a particular hotel to play at their casino, and there are dozens of massive casinos.

5/6 nights is getting towards the long side of a Vegas stay though, the novelty wears off after 4 days, and should really be made part of a longer holiday elsewhere.
I have heard this before and couldn't disagree more, we spent 7 nights and could have stayed for longer. As for hotels the Bellagio was my greatest disappointment in Vegas. I had always seen it as somewhere that was top of my list to stay but after my first visit I wasn't impressed. The Venetian would be our favorite and friends rate the Encore/Wynn very highly.
The Luxor is worth a shout just for the experience of getting to go in their inclinators. They are the lifts that go up the corners of the pyramid so move sideways as they go up. It feels very odd!
Edit - If I went again I'd be tempted to try a couple of different hotels on the same trip. Why not.

I've stayed at the Bellagio, the Wynn Encore and the Cosmopolitan this year. I would go for the Cosmopolitan – but get an apartment with a fountain view if you can – the view from the chest-deep Japanese bath is fantastic! It has a great location as well mid-strip. The Encore is just a little too far North…
All of the hotels are good – and deals can be found on sites like i4vegas etc – but for me the Cosmopolitan has the edge in terms of design and ambience. The Chandelier Bar and Bond are fantastic hang-outs and the rooms are well proportioned and designed. I would definitely go back again.
