hertz car rental codes

Will you be pre-paying? I can't say for certain but would be amazed if they queried it when you collected the car. There must be hundreds, possiby thousands, of different kinds of discounts kicking around.
yep pre pay..checkout takes me to the usual page where you choose payment cardsOne of the perks of me paying a hefty fee for my amex platinum is a generous discount at hertz, and a CDW code (no insurance required) to go with the hertz gold card/canopy service.
However, I am pretty sure that this has to be paid on an amex- I say pretty sure, as I dont really use anything else and as a result havent tried it with a visa, but I do recall it being mentioned at some point.
I suspect your code does too.
Remember that with gold canopy service someone still has to issue/check/approve the paperwork and put it in the car, so there is still a possibility it will be flagged up then even if it will accept another type of card for prepay, or another possibility is they charge you after the rental when they realise.

I concur - I rent cars via Hertz and National pretty much every week in the US.
Always pay AmEx - always get the discount. However last week at STL, found I'd left my AmEx card at home so they swiped my BoA debit card instead - this week, they hit me with an additional charge (only $38) because they can't apply and AmEx discount code to anything other than an AmEx charge card.

When are you going? Always a bit of a gamble but there might be an end of year / new year sale.
I find the Hertz prices a bit random - they can vary each time you look. Have you checked how much it comes out at on Expedia, or through someone like USRentaCar (not sure if they do Hertz)?
