Last minute Thailand
Discussion
Hi all I know there are some experts here with regards to trips to Thailand so would appreciate any input!
26th Dec Leave UK
Arrive in Bangkok for 2 nights. (Booked hotel)
29th fly to Koh Samui
Now we don't have anything booked till the 7th and want to go to the full moon, dive in koh Tao (any recommendations?) and anything else we can pack in!
We have to be back to Koh Samui on the 7th for a wedding.
Fly back to the UK on the 11th.
Any advice for the 29th - 7th would be great. We have a nice hotel booked in Bangkok and for the weeding so looking for some budget options £100 per night ish?
(Yes i'm fully aware that lots of placed are now fully booked )
having never been before I'm looking at booking.com Asiarooms.com tripadvisor and have called STA that have a few options.

If you haven't booked accommodation on Koh Phangan for New Years yet then I am guessing you will find it very hard to find somewhere to sleep this late notice.
You can try further out of Haad Rin, try over near Ban Tai or go up the north of the island, with the road now complete it really isn't as far away as people think it is.
Or just stay on Samui and get a long tail across for the night. Do NOT book into one of the group "speed boats" that take you across from Samui. The one time we did this, 3 of the boats ran out of petrol half way there so it took us nearly 3 hours to get across, on a longtail it might take 40 mins or so.
You might find that a lot of places are all booked up due to the time of year but remember there is always somewhere, and don't forget to haggle too. The inflated xmas/new year prices can and do come down.

im planning on being in KT from 10-15th, currently looking at Bans Diving Resort - if you book direct with them its alot cheaper plus you get money off if you dive with them
Website looks amazing. Trip advisor not so good (however I do take most reviews with a pinch of salt!) http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g303910-...
Let me know how you get on!
