We're getting a motorhome and have two weeks off over Easter and don't mind a drive* So where would you suggest?

We are looking at northern Spain but have been put off by talk of rain. We don't mind cold it have no idea where to start looking.

Places like Germany, or...

*We have three young kids so big drives (Croatia or Greece, for instance) are out...

By the time you've driven to northern Spain it's not a great deal closer than driving to Ancona and getting an overnight boat across to Greece. Or even just work your way down Italy.

The north coast of Spain is notoriously wet, though beautiful country. Not sure how Barcelona and the med side is at that time of year.

Bill i live in western France and like many parts of Europe it can be stunning in April but also can rain.
If you head down to the Med you should strike lucky.
If on the route down its nice then its win win.

We are thinking of taking the ferry to Spain, which is why I mention it. Although crossing the Bay of Biscay in spring could be a nightmare. Northern Italy around Genoa looks promising.

Any other suggestions from the weekday crowd?

Actually another suggestion from me. Book Dover to Calais and have a look at the forecast before you leave. If you still fancy Spain you have a bit more driving. If it's tipping down there you can go somewhere else.

Dover is 4 hours+ from us so it's worth us paying a premium to go from Poole. Good plan though.
