We went oct 2011 and had a great time.

My kids were 5, 9 and 11.

The most popular rides get busy, some you can get fastpass tickets but some you need to queue, 80 mins was the longest (Space Mountain: Mission 2) but I'm not that fussed about big rides.
As soon as I got there in the mornings I used to go and get the fastpass tickets for the afternoon.

Kids rides are normally not that bad.

Food is very expensive. We bought stuff at the shop at Davy Crocket ranch where we stayed and had lunch in the picnic area weather dependent, worked out at about £12 per day between 6 of us. Ate in maccy's one day which is a similar price to the UK.

Well worth getting a good spot for the parades, the dancers get the kids out of the crowd to dance.

Ours met a few characters but weren't that bothered, big queues.

Goofy visted the shop at Davy Crocket ranch a few times when it was virtually empty so got some good photos then.

Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast is a great ride for the kids, we went on 3 times!

Hope you have a great time. Well worth it.

^^ summed up nicely.

Definitely get the fastpass tickets.
In hindsight I thought the whole place was a rip off but its a great place and the kids will love it. There is something every step of the way.

Tower of Terror is a blast, Mrs FiF generally doesn't do rides, Miss FiF told her it was one of those rides that wasn't a ride but all cinematic effects.

hehe Of course that was utterly utterly wrong. hehe

Actually she really enjoyed it, giggled like an idiot all the way through, and then went round to the queue and went on again. It was quiet so a short queue.

General advice, go with the knowledge that Disney are intent on taking your trousers down at every opportunity and emptying your wallet as much as they can. With that knowledge, either you can rail against the system, "How MUCH for a hot dog!" or you can go with the flow, largely accept it and try and limit the damage as much as possible or just say stuff it we are here only once on this Earth and enjoy yourself.

Your call.

If you decide to eat in Table service restaurants, can definitely recommend Walt's on Main Street, not cheap but a haven in the middle of a tiring day. Food has always been excellent. The The Silver Spur Steakhouse in Frontierland is OK, Annette's Diner in the area outside the park is OK too but have heard terrible reports of both Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe but that is hearsay.

just a lil thread closure...

we went half board so we definately saved a few pennies there.

i did go in the frame of mind that this was disney and by the law of the divine they would take as much money as possible.

we went to cafe agraba - which is actually halal so that was brilliant. then we went to restaurant des stars - mainly cause they were buffet - i know my kids being fussy eaters that way they had a choice of what to eat rather than lets order and risk it if they dont like it - whcih is a shame as i wanted to go to inventions and walts - but that aside three kids two adults is €110 per sitting.

for some reason we were given an upgrade of breakfast to the country green club (or something like that) which meant we ate upstairs in the bar area with sofa's reserved for us and we had a charachter come in. i believe in total 3 different charachters come in and go around to each table on a meet and greet. ontop of that we also booked the breakfast at mickeys - whcih in retrospect should've been changed to princess meal - but again the charachters were friendly and you can tell well scripted!

we stuck to mostly kiddies rides apart from the finding nemo turtle one.

what i didnt expect was that due to my daughter who has a medical condition we were given easy access passes whcih were unbelievable. i'd mentioned this at the time of the booking for insurance purposes and they'd asked for a doctors letter - which i also sent. it meant we went in from the way people came out - thus queue jump smile

the whole place was a rip off - but the kids loved every second. to the point i do want to go back in a year or two.
