Hi'ya
Looking for a short break (mid-week 4 days) with family, young kids etc. Just seen Bluestone National Park Resort on the web. It looks interesting and good, has anyone been? Is it decent, well looked after, clean not run down etc?

Cheers
C

I know someone who has been and it was very nice. It's practically next door to Oakwood Theme Park as well. Lovely area.

It's excellent. Big pool with slides, lazy river etc, large indoor adventure playground with high-wire course, several decent bars / restaurants with takeaway & delivery, all very tidy, modern and clean when we were there last year.

Definitly worth budgeting the £80 to hire a golf buggy as it is very hilly, and let's face it, who needs more excuse than that?

As mentioned, Oakwood is next door. When we went there were less than 100 people in the park so zero queueing.

Also about 10 mins away is Folly Farm which is great for kids and has a massive indoor funfair for when it inevitably rains.

We went two years ago for a mon-fri stay. The only down side is that alot of the accomodation is at the bottom of a hill and the car park/pool/activity centre at the top. You're not allowed to take cars to your accomodation unless arriving/leaving. Where we were, it took a good 20 mins to walk up the hill to the car park, the pool 5 mins more. There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the centre to the car park/pool if you don't want to walk or hire a golf buggy for your stay (book a buggy as soon as you can as IIRC there is a limited supply). We went off season and would imagine that the indoor pool, which is very nice with lots of slides and a wave machine etc. would get very crowded in high season.
The accomodation was very good, comfy beds, well equiped kitchen, very clean, nice leather sofas and chairs, lots of windows offering great views, patio area with BBQ. The restaurants do a delivery/take away service which can be handy with tired kids. The activity centre is extra (the pool is free) and alot of the outdoor activities archery etc. are geared towards older kids/teens.
The town of Narberth is nearby and this offers very nice restaurants, deli's and boutique shops. Tenby and Saundersfoot are also close by, which have great beaches and a wide array of shops/supermarkets.

The activity centre was free when we were there, other than a few quid for the high wire thing.

We had to pay a £5 a day per child, the high wire was extra.
