Looking for recommendations for Gatwick valet / meet & greet parking. I want to drop the car off at the terminal and have it waiting when i return.

Thanks

We usually use meteor - very good value and reliable to a fault. At Christmas, Gatwick was doing a deal where, if you booked a week or two in advance, you could leave the car in the South terminal short stay for £80/week which was more convenient if anything and only £15 more than valet

Make sure you check the car carefully when they deliver it back to you. I got caught a few years back, driver had the boot open for me to put luggage in as I came out of the terminal and was holding my door open for me. Nice man eh? I even gave him a fiver. When I got home noticed the front offside wing was badly dented and scratched. Of course they denied all liability, said I must have done it on the drive home.

Purple Parking or Meteor.

I've never had any problem with either in 6 years of pretty frequent travel. They're always pretty prompt and the car has never been returned damaged

I would never do it. Have you seen where your car ends up? Bumper to bumper with hundreds. Just do short stay and walk into the terminal. You don't get some spotty oik driving your car then!

How far do you live from the airport?
Myself and Mrs Saleen got a private hire taxi last September return to Heathrow (approx 95miles each way) picked up and dropped off door to door for £250, I know some will say that is a lot but once you add in the cost of 15 days parking and the fuel, the lack of worry if your vehicle is safe and the not worrying about the drive home after a long haul flight the cost difference gets smaller.

I did the official Gatwick Valet parking in October last year, as it was no more expensive than normal parking when I was booking it about 3 weeks before the trip.

It was poorly sign posted within the parking structure, but otherwise ok. You parked up outside their office and completed the paperwork and left them the key.

It's in the closest part of the parking structure to the terminal so not much of a walk.

On my return I was given my key and a parking-space number where the car was about 100m from the office.

I didn't make a note of the mileage so don't know if they only drove it that 100m or kept it further away and brought it back on the day of my return.

So, in short, it wasn't especially 'valet' but was no more expensive than self-park and was conveniently located.
