Grossglockher and other alpine roads advice please

Hi Ronan,
I did the Grossglocker last Sept in the Zell am Zee Porsche Event. Had done it in May 1995 as well but spoiled by really foggy freezing snow/weather. Last year it was the traffic that spoiled it, just way too much and getting caught behind a 1000 lone cyclists.
When ru going, and what about the OGP in August ?

Not too far from the Grossglockner, but a much better road (and much quieter) is the Turracher Strasse running up from Reichenau in the South to Predlitz in the North. The half-way point is at Turracher Höhe and I can strongly recommend the Hotel Hochschober for a stop/stopover. The road south of Turracher Höhe is more open sweepers and larger radius curves. North of Turracher Höhe and the road is all 90 deg switchbacks and a great chassis test.
Did I mention the road is really quiet? Recommended.
