What's best for communicating in French?

Either everyone here has perfect French or you're all speaking English LOUDLY AND S L O W L Y to get by. No one use an app based translator?

Seems you're in luck if you have an Android device - the newest version of Google translate just released allows you to download language packs for offline translation smile

Thanks, using iphone. Tried the slightly expensive Ultralingua which has a very useful numbers translator as well as the inexpensive Languages, which covers most of Europe. I'll report back for anyone not falling unit either of the catsgories above...
