Central London for the next few days - worth the risk?
Discussion
I've got a holiday to central London booked from tomorrow (staying until Weds). I've just been reading about all of the potential trouble brewing from tomorrow onwards.
I'm in a position now to cancel and not lose any money on the hotel. However, this option expires tomorrow. I can also book something for elsewhere too if I do it tonight.
I don't fancy walking around a city full of idiotic protestors and potential rioters.
Is it still worth going? Or is it a good idea to go somewhere else?
Thanks all.

I just don't want to be caught up in the st. If it kicks off tomorrow and Trafalgar Square has a riot, where else will it kick off? Won't be much fun going around London if streets and venues are closed or cordoned off.
Or am I worrying too much?

It will be as normal. Wednesday maybe some issues with the peasants revolting at what happened before they were born.
If you don't shave and walk your dog on a string maybe.............
(It's a bit crap on a good day TBH)
We are leaving at two on Wednesday. So may be on the way back before there is too much trouble. If you don't shave and walk your dog on a string maybe.............

Also staying just outside Covent Garden. So not necessarily in the thick of it.
Ok, thanks. I don't know London very well at all and have just been reading about the potential trouble tomorrow in Trafalgar Square. Don't want to be anywhere near it.
Tough decision as I don't want to cancel, then it turns out to be not so bad. However, I don't want to spend my holiday time dodging areas with riots and protestors.

It'll be fine, last time there were riots we were walking through the middle of them taking photos without any issues at all. The great unwashed may mouth off, protest etc but the likelihood of it affecting you other than a bit of travel chaos here and there is virtually nil unless you choose to get involved.
Thanks all. Decided to go anyway and now at Woking. Heading into central London tomorrow. Looks like there are a load of plonkers in Trafalgar Square, but it's raining. That'll keep some of them away.
Are Millwall supporters heading there now? They've been fighting already at the football ground.
