Friends of mine are coming over to the UK and will have 2 free days in Glasgow (I think it links in with his work) so are looking for things to do, places to go etc..
I think they would rather go out of Glasgow and see the scenery, maybe do some walking and stay in a nice B&B/hotel/pub overnight.
Preferably 60 - 90 mins drive.

I don't know that area really having only been up there once years ago.

I suggested Loch Lomond and then ran out of knowledge.

They like big landscapes and are into photography, how far to the highlands?

Thanks in advance.

Glen Coe is within easy reach and a great drive up from Glasgow

Lots of walking in the area, from fairly easy bits of the West Highland Way to serious hills and mountain stuff its all good

Drive to Edinburgh...

I've taken to staying outside of the city now if work dictates I need to be in Glasgow for any reason.

Christ what a cess pool.

Is it that bad?

Thought they had made lots of investment in the last few years or was it all spent on the M74?

It could be gold plated for all the good it would do, it's the inhabitants in the city centre that are the problem. It's actually a real shame, some of the architecture is superb especially around the main station.

Most visitors to Glasgow love it, but if they are into the outdoors then its an easy case of getting on to the A82 and head north there is plenty to see, walk and climb!
