Place to eat near Gare du Nord?

I had a steak in a café somewhere close to the Gare Du Nord a while back; no exaggeration the worst one I have EVER eaten.
I'm guessing that will have been the buffalo grill. The restaurant across the road from there is good (next to Hotel Mercure entrance) is meant to be good, but we ended up at the buffalo grill instead (long story), which was rubbish. Back on topic...
The bottom of the steps up to the Sacre Coeur is only a 15 min walk away from Gare du Nord. Montmartre (the area where the Sacre Coeur is) is home to plenty of places to eat although some are a little touristy given the proximity to the Sacre Coeur.
Anyway, try this place:

Loads of Parisians eat there, I had steak which was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. If you don't like the look of it from the outside, just find somewhere else. But it's a very nice place and does just the job on a modest budget (probably sort of Pizza Express prices-ish)

I suggest Terminus Nord http://www.terminusnord.com/en/
Superb busy brasserie, great for steak, excellent steak tartare if you like that sort of thing. The seafood is supposed to be good although I always go for steak. Right next to the station - just walk out of the front.

Tbh the area around Gare du Nord is pretty sketchy and places around there are heavily tourist orientated due to the large amount of passengers coming through the area.
In my experience, food in Paris from the very touristy areas tends to be poor. You could do worse then just finding a nice boulangerie and getting some baguettes with beignets to follow.
If you have a little time then go to La's du falafel in the Marais for some very good falafel and schwarmas. Alternatively, Breizh Cafe near Saint Sebastien. Their galettes are very good and their sweet crepes are awesome, I am still dreaming of the one I had with dark chocolate a couple of months back. Between Euro 30-50 for 2 people, so pretty reasonable by Paris standards.

L'as du falafel is really good too, but a bit of a trek from gate de nord.
