4 week Asia trip £10k ideas
Discussion
We are taking October off having not had a beach holiday for 3 years and the wife wants to go to the Far East. I have done Thailand,Hong Kong and Malaysia albeit 25 years ago. The thought being I would hate the commercialisation of some of these places so not sure of returning although the missus keeps nagging for Thailand.
Without appearing snobbish I don't really want to queue, listen to loud mouths and be ripped off by touts, afterall we are on holiday.
Anyone got ideas for a great twin centre trip? Thinking Vietnam and Philippines/China/South Korea?
Budget circa £10k.

I'd certainly go to South Korea, I went there in October and loved every minute.Without appearing snobbish I don't really want to queue, listen to loud mouths and be ripped off by touts, afterall we are on holiday.

Depends what you like too see and want to do.
I enjoyed Gili Trawanga for a chill out for a few days plus diving.
Borneo might be fun to see the orangutang sanctuary. also there is a tiger place with monks that I think would be cool, but is probably in the list of countries you already mentioned you have been.
Bali is good if you stay north side, south side is Australia version of Ibiza and not nice.

I live in Borneo, and the Orang-utan sanctuary in kk is a disgrace, run by Shangri-La hotel as 'corporate responsibility' that they can make a profit on by charging tourists, on a multi hotel site with 2 18 hole golf courses, got upset when I asked them how many animals had been displaced to build the golf course.
Hi, Philippines are a must, you have a bit of time i would head to Palawan and do some of this: http://www.taophilippines.com/
The trip runs from El Nido to Coron and in reverse also.
Last visited El Nido 8 years ago, looking to go back early next year.
Vietnam is also highly recommended as is Cambodia. Enjoy

Hi guys thanks for your great comments thus far. We have Phillipines as a definate first destination now and are deciding on second choice, looking at Borneo, China or South Korea.
I want to dive, the missus wants to sit on a beach eat nice food and shop locally.
Comments re Bali agree. Have been before, highlight was wreck diving in Tulamben over the ww2 destroyer.

i can't believe no-one has queried the monster budget... flights to BKK will probs be somewhere in the region of £800, but budget a grand (unless you're planning on some kind of better class seats) but then once you're there, you can stay in the absolute best hotels and still have change from £100 a night. I can't imagine there is a vast difference between Asian cities of that ilk, and intra-asian flights are very cheap. I'd be surprised if you need half your budget.
Hello Paul, thanks for giving chance to solve your question. Why not you try India. In India you will find some exciting sea beaches and dazzling places to stay. Under your budget come Goa and stay one week in 3 star hotel, and enjoy fun, party, dance & natural beauty.
If you find any difficult then put your response here i will explain detail about the Goa travel guide.
