Seem to end up here every summer for last week July first week August. In the past we have rented through agents ,through owners using Ebay. And through holiday websites. Ideal rental would be four or five bed villa with its own pool within walking distance of port or Arenal beach. Does anyone here have any contacts they could kindly share Thanks in advance

What is your budget?
I would imagine many are booked up by now.

I'd also look at the Los Pinos area of Calpe which is walking distance to the promenade and, of the two, I actually prefer Calpe.

I would suggest you look at the villa sites like www.ownersdirect.co.uk, Villa Spain, villarenters and holidaylettings. Put in the dates you want, refine the search to the area and number of bedrooms, tick the swimming pool option and see what comes up.

I suspect it will be a case of what is available at this stage rather than what you want.
If budget is an issue, I'd be flexible on destination and look at villas round the area of your cheapest overall flights. This is what I do and this year it was Malaga and we thought we'd have a change and try something inland and cheaper. Why? Because when we went to Calpe last August, the kids spent 80% of their time in the pool - we could have been anywhere.

I also found that booking inland makes the owners far more flexible on number of days and when you could arrive so was able to book 10 days allowing me to take advantage of cheaper midweek flights (this alone save me £1000)

This is what we booked about 20km north of Malaga between Ronda and Antequera - because renting a villa at £2-£3k a week to be near the sea seemed a little insane. It's an experiment and it may or may not pay off - you never know until you try.
