I'm definitely off the Australia idea now. Over a fiver for a schooner of beer is just bonkers, and worrying about the cost of everything wouldn't make an enjoyable trip...

Morocco's cheap

The cost of the Jebel Sahro trek includes three meals a day for most of the trip, plus there are no hotels to pay for on most of it - you'll be wild camping and washing in rivers.

Only downside, no alkyhol on the trek. Or, only as much as you can fit in your 10Kg luggage limit.

I'd do the trek again. I found it relatively easy, and I'm not particularly fit.
