Yes, very busy indeed for some reason! Thanks for that link I'll try to see if there's any rooms available.

The Hilton in Islington isn't too bad.

However, the Doubletree at London Bridge is very nice (Pepys St)
Sorry, I meant to say Doubletree at Tower of London, not London Bridge.

If you want to go out a bit, Travelodge in Stratford (Jubilee Line) is actually very pleasant too.

Might be worth giving them a call with your room requirements, especially if you don't mind putting a child on a tempory easybed, seem to recall getting a room there and paying £15 extra for a child's bed.

Ideal location but it's £410/room so that's out of my budget range I'm afraid frown

Thanks for all the help guys! In the end I've settled for Novotel City Hotel. smile

2 x Exec rooms (queen bed + sofa bed) for £420 all in is not too shabby and nearest tube (London Bridge) is only 5 mins away by foot! Called and was told parking shouldn't be a problem too.

If you can get in the Apex City for a sensible rate, thats a good option.
The City is pretty quiet at weekends and whilst its a little further on the tube, the reward is a quiet location.

Have a look at the London Marriott Regents Park, it's not in Zone 1 but it does have parking and it's a 2 min walk from Swiss Cottage tube station which is on the Jubilee Line...it's literally 10 mins to Green Park which is where you get out for Buckinhgam Palace...20 mins with one change to Harrods. It's got a pool which is great for the kids and if you are driving into London from oop North it's only 10 mins from the bottom of the M1. Actually you don' even need to pay for parking as the street it's on doesn't have parking restrictions at weekends. Oh and if you're into celebrity spotting it's 100 yards from the gangster mansion Jimmy Carr built with the money he should have paid to HMRC biggrin

I haven't stayed there but a few friends have who say it's good (I live pretty close), the England cricket team (and the opposition) always stay there when they are playing at Lords so it must be decent. There are always loads of families staying there. I am not affiliated and don't hang out in the foyer but am a member of the gym.
