I'm thinking of booking a 3 night trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights through Groupon, the trip would be mid/late September.

I'm just wondering if any of you have done this kind of trip before? I know it is basically a gamble whether you see the lights or not, but obviously I'd like to think there's a really good chance. Apparently the tour takes you about a half hour drive out of Reykjavik so light pollution shouldn't be a problem, but I'm still kind of worried.

I know that there's places in the UK you can go to see it, but there's also things like the Blue Lagoon which the UK is lacking as far as I know. wink

Iceland is definitely worth a trip, northern lights or not. Absolutely go for it.
I wonder if September would be dark enough, ie have long enough nights to see the lights.

But that just comes down to research.

If it's a good deal I'd go for it, Northern lights or not.

Seems like a good deal. Tried pricing it up from some other sites and works out quite a bit more.

Iceland + Blue Lagoon and tour of some other areas would be a cool trip as it is, but the main point would be to see the Northern Lights. I could delay it a bit but not by too much... Time to do a bit of research I think.
