Hypothetically speaking, would one have a problem travelling to New York next February as a teacher leading a school trip if said educator had, in 2003, been arrested for drunk and disorderly and let go with a police caution?

(Does this belong in SP&L)

It depends if you want the 'correct' or the 'practical' answer.

Technically it could be argued that you should answer Yes and that could cause a problem. In practice just answer No and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't have thought so.

I've always wondered what this meant. Wiki says it is ""act of baseness, vileness, or depravity in the private and social duties which a man owes to his fellowmen, or to society in general, contrary to the accepted and customary rule of right and duty between man and man".

In which case I imagine the American tourist industry would collapse overnight if it was seriously implemented.

And I doubt the USA would ever be able to elect another President or Senator to Congress

A teacher getting arrested and getting a record for D&D while supervising a school trip (if i read that right), is a little different to the normal routine D&D. Did job loss or any professional standards stuff follow?

There's a whole document about it here

Drunkeness is covered, but the issue is that if you answer no they won't have any information to the contrary, nor would they really care.

I think he got the D&D separate to the whole teacher role?

Wholly separately, it was an 18 year old on his gap year that got arrested. It was 5 months after the end of sixth form, was out with some school friends over Christmas who had gone straight to uni and come back home with some drinking games they'd learned off thir new friends.

cautions are often not even listed on our own PNC, let alone foreign databases.
