Can't recall, but someome posted the other day about the requirement for 6 months remaining on your passport when you travel.

I had booked a trip to Seattle in August to visit my daughter and granddaughter. I had checked previously all was in order.

Anyway after reading the post, I checked my passport, and yes it runs out 5 months from time of travel.

Managed a to arrange a personnel visit to my local passport office, lots of money and get a new passport.

So who ever you are, a big thank you.

But FFS Why do you need 6 months.............

Pressumably because if the distance between the fan and the st narrows, you've still got time to get back before the passport runs out?

It does seem a little excessive though, doesn't it.

It's just in case you are ill there or due to circumstances beyond your control you have to stay

Pretty sure it is 90days required remaining on your passport for the US, many countries do need 6 months though.
