NYC Bars- help required!

Afternoon chaps,

Mrs Vvroom and I are just back from Barbados and I'm pretty miserable about being back at work. I've just booked NYC, flying out on Boxing Day for 4 nights, to give me something to look forward to!

It will be my 4th trip there, last was in 2008. It will be Mrs Vvroom's first.

I've read and enjoyed the restaurant thread and have a good handle on the old staples.

As bars pop up every 5 mins in NYC I thought I'd open the floor:

1. Best cocktail bar?

2. Best 'bar with a view'?

3. Best pub.

Decent cocktails, great views, also has a swimming pool up top iirc.
