Hi all,

Some where in central France, heading down through the mountains.
I didn't see the speed camera until it flashed.
The limit was 70km/h, and I guess we were doing about 80km/h - 85km/h
Should I be expecting any thing in the post? this was about 5 weeks ago.

More recently in Belgium, the motorway speed was 120km/h, I was doing about 135km/h, and the traffic police had set up a mobile camera on a tripod, behind the barriers.
This was about 3 weeks ago.

Normally a slow'ish driver in the Land Cruiser.

Nothing to be worried about with the fixed cameras, you can even do a double thumbs up and smile for the front facing one's if you like, unless your in a hire car. Though the gendarme with radar guns are a different matter altogether but if you were caught then you would be a couple of hundred euro less off by now or your car impounded.

I'm being harassed over a speeding offence in France in a french hire car, got gatsoed on the motorway.... Anyone know whether they eventually stop writing?

I know, I was speeding just pay the fine..... wink ironically it was to catch a flight that was then delayed by 3 hours..,, an Air France flight, so does that cancel it out?

I suspect the hire company will roll over and pay any fines possibly adding a surcharge assuming they took card details when ou hired the car.

The hire company charged me 50 euros last year for the privilege of them giving the french police my details...
