Finding a late January Bargain?

Morning Folks.

Me and the other half have been planning on taking a holiday in January, instead of booking in advance we have simply booked a period off work and are waiting to grab a last minute bargain (If such a thing exists).

Our essentials are:

• Sunny
• Nice Hotel

Non Essentials:

• Location: literally anywhere in the world (although Ideally I would prefer to avoid Arab countries)
• Duration: 7-14 Nights
• Board Basis: Any
• Departure Airport: South West, South, London, Midlands, Manchester etc.

I want to spend between £500-£1,200 per person and I am looking for maximum "bang for buck", therefore I would appreciate any suggestions and places to look for such deals

Grenada is nice and you might get a deal but January is high season in the Caribbean so you may have to look elsewhere.

I mention it as three years ago I got two weeks (room only) including flights for £650pp in a nice hotel five minutes from the airport but no noise.

Diving was amazing if thats your thing.

You can get cheap flights to the canaries outside school holidays. I paid £140 return from cardiff first week in Feb with Thomson. I then book a villa/apartment (latter in my case for 200 squid) and self-cater. Complex has a pool. Hire car. Job done.
