As the title suggests really.

I'm trying to find a villa in Spain or similar, as quiet as possible and as far away from anyone else as possible with a pool for a week for the OH and I.

End of July into early August time.

If anyone has one they hire out that they think would fit the bill or has any knowledge of places that are similar then I would be grateful if you could give me a heads up...

TIA

smile

For something a bit different, try this.

I'm thinking of booking this in May or June as it looks stunning: Under £1k for the end of July.
Fly to Malaga

Other than that, search Casarabonela (also Malaga) where we stayed here:

Only two downsides were the long and dusty access road (we did it in a Doblo though) and one room smelt of cigarette smoke (bearable though)
This gives great access to Antequera, Ronda and numerous other places and is on the side of a mountain with graet views.

We've used this a couple of times, villas nearly always have reviews on Trip Advisor now, so worth checking once you find somewhere that looks the part.

If it's in the middle of nowhere, check there's a decent sized shop nearby. You don't want to spend half a day driving to pick up grog.

Hi Mark!
You know you are always welcome back! Feel free to speak to Lucy if of interest. June is a fab month weather wise if I was to pick and no crowds.. If you speak to her tell her I said I would pay your £150 transfer.

On another note Turkey is SO cheap now. The Lira was 2.6 last year its now 3.6 to the pound so a 500ml Efes beer at 4 ytl is getting close to £1.

VFM its the best within a 4 hour flight. Hope all is well with you..I am busy Cobra hunting. ;-)

^^^^

Go here, I've not stayed there as it was too big for the 2 of us but Kalkan is awesome, the people are great, the food is great, nice beaches nearby, trips into the hills and loads of things to do.

I'd recommend a hire car though.

Very generous mate, and I may just take you up on that. We were planning on going in October last year, so about 8 weeks since we were there in August (in fact we nearly booked from the villa), but a euro road trip put paid to it.

I'd just like to point out before everyone does the famous 'I'm Brian!' that in fact I can prove I am me! hehe

Cobra huh - very nice addition to the stable smile

Hi Dave sleeping 18 you will really struggle as nowhere in Kalkan is that big. PLUS you have left it too late for this year as all the villas will be full for the summer now. All I can think is to rent 2 villas next to each other and IF you do go to Kalkan and manage to find anything feel free to msg me your options I have been there 10years so know all/most. Best bet? holiday rental website.

Thanks Paulo,

We've managed to book somewhere for 18 in the canaries somewhere (my parents have sorted it). It's for next year.

I've deffo got my eye on your place for some point in the future though, looks lovely.

Have a look at www.villarenters.com

You can pay your money through the company, rather than to an individual, so you can use your credit card to gain protection.

I'm sure 99% of the properties on Owners Direct etc are fine, but I've heard of some scams going on (people taking payments on non-existant villas and so on).

Really good point Gareth makes.
Its imperative when renting a villa get to speak to the owner if you can to assess the set up. Ask lots of questions about the area and the property. If there is something amiss you can tell straight away.
