It looks familiar from a childhood holiday staying in Amboise. However, the river looks too narrow for that stretch of the Loire, unless it's taken from one of the many small islands or tributaries along there.

Yes, I know what you mean. Maybe it's a stretch that joins the Loire. It's that neck of the woods but I have no names I can think off.

I think I might have confused things here and misread the original comment, it is in the Loire region but that isn't the Loire river. This river does join the Loire but not at this location.

I think I might have confused things here and misread the original comment, it is in the Loire region but that isn't the Loire river. This river does join the Loire but not at this location.

No that makes sense, it's 30 some years ago since I drove around this area, memories/detail can get a bit hazy!
