it's "interesting" in that it looks magnetic powered these days, although it has the wheel etc it looks like the magnetic clappers now ring the bell. Was that done at Westminster? Maybe?

Aren't those winding mechanisms to automate the bell bonging?

Salisbury?

Yes, some means of ringing them by the clapper wagging back and forth (I'm no mechanical engineer!)

I think it's in a place where there is a tall window, there is a blind over much of it on the opposite window but I feel like it'll be noticeable from outside. But it could be Salisbury, or Westminster or ............

The two motors at the base of the bell drive ropes that lead around the two wheels on either side of the bell. These replace a bell ringers ropes and make it automated. No idea where it is though!

I would refer the honourable thread member to the post of our learned colleague Amateurish who has correctly I think) identified this as Cologne (Bell Tower viewing gallery).

smile Nice to see the window was sort of what I thought it may be!

I would suggest that Amateurish could post one, it does look correct.

Well it looks like the south east of New Zealand, that T-somethingorother Head although I'm slightly concerned that was a bit further between the 'hut' and the light.

Think you are right, it is Otago peninsular where the albatrosses are. Just the angle it is taken foreshortens the distances.

Stuff you've seen are often easy, stuff you've not seen often aren't.
