If you want to shoot guns. Lots of great places to eat and gamble on the strip. Remember drinks are free when you are gambling.
Its what you make of it really. Great fun and a real sensory overload.

You can get married on one of the Venetian's gondolas!!!!!
They have special ones for the occasion. Though, when we asked our gondolier whether she'd get married on one, she replied. "me? Get married in a shopping mall?"
It is funny that the canal water is less than a foot deep. But, they insist you wear a seatbelt while in a gondola.

Las Vegas is a great place... the Venetian is awesome and the shopping mall with the gondola's is spectacular.
When you go to Vegas, there is literally everything to do. So my advice is make a list of things that you and your better half enjoy doing and go nuts in Vegas. Don't be shy to spend money though, it used to be a cheap place to go, but that has changed. However, the upside to all this is that what is on offer, is usually world class food, entertainment etc.
The shows are great, but save your money on Cirque du Soleil, whilst it is very, very impressive..... you'll come away not sure what just happened.
If i were you, I would just absorb Vegas for what it is and soak up the service and indulgences on offer. You and your wife will have a great time.

Venetian is great. have stayed there about 6 times. If you get an offer or even ask if you can upgrade to the Palazzo. They do a thing, think its called privelege cost to us when we went was $100 per night. Includes buffet breakfast, gym membership, in room internet, all day coffee/snacks in the privelege lounge and a free bar in the privelege lounge every night for about 3/4 hours ( tip for the drinks etc). Amazing deal. Best $100 a day I spent.
All the cirques are good. Have seen Ra, "O", Mystere and forget the name of the one at the Wynn. Check out who`s on at the colleseum at Caesars but all the mainline shows are good. Recommend Jersey Boys if it is still on now at Paris I believe.
Great steak to be had at Smith and Wollensky`s on the strip between Planet Hollywood and MGM. So much to do so enjoy.

Ive Just got back from spending my 40Th there.
Along with the shows there is so much to do for all tastes. We Did the happy hour in lounge 107 up the start tower, this starts at 4pm and runs until 7pm. 2 for 1 on cocktails and a great view of the strip as the sun sets.
Celine Dion is at Ceasers at the moment, Britney is in town too.
We had a busy week there as it was the March madness where all the college basketball games were being shown.
Did a gondola ride but wouldn't shout about it.
We stayed in the Aria which is a nice modern hotel, Minimum bets at the tables downstairs were $25 which is a bit of a piss take seen as you can go to the Bellagio or Venitian and place the same bets from $10.
We did the Bellagio last year and after staying at the Aria i would say that when i go back i will definatley stay in the Bellagio. It has a very nice feel to it and the casino is a little more mature.
Go and look around the other hotels and casinos as one of the funniest things we saw was how calm and civilised the Venetian/Bellagio/Caesars was but as you got towards the Luxor end the people started to change.
A quick walk around Excaliburs casino and i thought i was in a redneck bar. Dirty birds dancing on the tables and waitresses that had obviously been pushed from the better hotels. 50-70 year old blonde 80's throwback with big tits and the shortest skirts. NOT A PRETTY SIGHT.
Another moment was a 70-80 yr old woman with a cocktail dress on walking throughout the reception at the bellagio with her undercarriage literally hanging out. Everyone just stopped and stared.
Whatever you do in Vegas you will have a good time.....I did and i am already planning my next trip there.

Nice one - can anyone advise me with regard to the compulsory resort fee? We're just about to book through BA and it states that the price does not include the above at $25 plus tax per room per night which is payable locally direct to the hotel - is this the same no matter who you book with or where you stay? Any idea of the rate of tax?
Just got back from Vegas, we stayed at the Vdara suites.
Tax in NV is about 8%
Our room fee included use of the spa, gym, phone, newspapers etc
Use the deuce bus to get about, it runs the strip and goes downtown to Fremont too which is really good, old casinos, heart attack grill etc
Do the sky jump at stratosphere, mine was cancelled due to high winds :-(
Go on the roller coasters at circus circus and New York New York
See the titanic exhibition at the Luxor
See some shows - use tix4tonight for discounts, we saw david copperfield this visit and it was amazing
Ceasars bacchanal buffet is insane for lunch, spend a bit more get unlimited champagne and beer
Do not see cris angel any show of his, absolutely ste.
Cheap diners like dennys are great for keeping costs down if you don't want a $50 breakfast bill every morning.
Paris buffet or Mon Ami Gabi at Paris is good for breakfast if you want to spend a bit more.
Mgm / ballagio / planet Hollywood buffets were pretty poor
Shoot guns / hire a supercar or muscle car like the new challenger R/T
Tip about 10-15%
Best to have a easy breakfast and lunch then blow out on dinners
Budget £300 - £500 a day if you want to enjoy yourself Vegas style (not including wes or coke)

Attractions like roller coasters, stratosphere etc cost from $18 each and up. Gun stores, Grand Canyon, cars and stuff then you're in the $100s, a decent show will be around $200 minumum for two, exhibitions around the $60 for two mark.
Drinks, depends where you go but a lot of places do drink all you like from $12 pp upwards or you can pay $6 + per bottle.
You can get a band that will let you into most if not all buffets for $49.99 pp so you can get 3 meals easy if you're being tight, a fancy meal out will be $150 +
Downtown old vegas is a lot cheaper and well worth a day out.
The Duece bus is $8 pp for 24hrs unlimited travel. Stops outside every hotel on the strip.
If you're gonna waste money it will be on food, it really is the land of excess.
