You pay as you leave don't you? It might be 15 years before I'm back there.. biggrin
Sometimes, but you can also tip as you go along....which might affect what you pay when you leave, and how soon you leave.

Went shooting yesterday my god the s&w 460xvr is a beast most powerful handgun in production it seems

If you want to shoot have a look at shooting safaris better than the Vegas ranges IMHO granted no autos etc but a great range of guns from flintlock to ar15 via percussion cap revolvers etc

Be careful what you say about powerful handguns. Apparently they only exist in the mind of Daily Mail journalists(see the Oscar Pistorius thread), and you will get pulled up by various knowledgable PHers.

Interesting reading on the tipping front. I'm going to put your theory to the test and tip in some places and not in others and report back on the outcome.

Tipping does help enhance the experience, but I also strongly agree with the tipping when deserved,

In 2 trips the only place our group have refused to leave a tip was at Hooters, both food & service was terrible and we made our displeasure quite clear before leaving,

I'm just about to book trip 3 for November...can't wait!

Looking for a bit of advice if I may. I've decided to hire a Corvette for 24hrs and the Wife wants to be sure I'll not just drive around aimlessly! Can any of you recommend any places to eat or worth a visit which would allow a drive out of Vegas itself?

If you want to eat.you don't need a Vette to drive to the restaurant
Book her into the Spa and go have fun

I like your thinking! I'd never get away with it and know she'd like to see somewhere different - doesn't have to be an eatery though. We're doing the Grand Canyon by helicopter BTW.

If you want some scenery, Valley of Fire State Park? You could go via the 167 and come back on the I15.

Further afield would be Death Valley or Zion National Park.

Peppermills for breakfast, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of fire and Grand canyon if you have a car. Steak at Ramsey gaff is very good. Oh and use your comp card at the casino, very worth it. We got 14 nights at the Mandalay Bay for free last year off our card.

I'm reading this thread with interest as you all seem to like LV.
I hated it. I found the place tawdry, loathed the strip and thought it was over rated. I cut my stay short, hired a car and drove to the Grand Canyon and stayed round there instead.

Each to their own. I also love the Canadian Rockies when I want to escape the rat race.

One for those of you who have tied the knot in LV...

Can anyone suggest a good place for my fiancee to have her hair done on the day of our wedding?

I realise that this won't be a personal recommendation and you'll have to ask your other half! lol

Thanks in advance,

Martin

I am pretty sure all the good hotels have in house hairdressers. Where you staying?

The Palazzo - I know there's a canyon something spa there but I think she'd rather go on recommendations in case the in house salon isn't so good.

Well I have never used it but the Palazzo is part of the Venetian and it is one of the best if not the best hotel in Vegas so I am sure it will be outstanding.

I stayed at Xmas, was ok . ! I prefer the mandarin, unfortunately in four weeks time they have a three night only deal so will switch to the ballagio for two nights. It had a recent makeover so should be back to how it was when I first stayed.
