Booking the Venetian tomorrow - 10 days in July during which time my other half and I will tie the knot. Can't wait! Anyone been?
Congratulations on the forthcoming wedding! We had our honeymoon in the Venetian. Loved Vegas and the hotel so much we've been back for our anniversary the last two years, and are hankering to go again this year.
Enjoy!

Thanks - I was saying that to my other half - if we love it, we'll end up revisiting every year! I am keen to try New York one day although she has already been :-)We had our honeymoon in the Venetian. Confirmation just received from BA - very excited.
We just took cash and bank cards. £3000, cash 2 of us for a week. Smaller notes are useful as you'll do a lot of tipping.
The wedding sounds like it will be fantastic. I can see the Mrs and I doing exactly the same in a year or 2. I'd also chose the Venetian given the choice of any hotel.

We took a caxtonfx card with us as a lot of banks will charge a fee if you use abroad. As we had free wifi we would just top the Caxton card up every few days as needed. It meant we never had a massive amount to lose should anything happen and we didn't have to take our credit cards/debit cards from home. We also took some cash for tips/taxis etc.
Congrats on the wedding mate.....
Have a great time in Vegas, we have been twice and itching to go back next year hopefully.
We stayed at the MGM both times, nice hotel and great pool area.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the $20 trick yet for getting nice room upgrades http://thetwentydollartrick.com/
Good advice on the taxi though as we got stung the 1st time as the driver took us to the top of the strip to get to the MGM, but the second time we went straight there via Swenson drive I think it was then onto tropicana.
Enjoy.

Since this is Pistonheads; there's an Auto Collection at the Quad Resort and Casino. I did it last month and it's worth a couple of hours of your time

Just another thought but is it possible is it to get a free seat upgrade on the plane (British Airways). The reason I ask is that the BA woman who booked our holiday over the phone said she would ask her colleagues to consider a 'seat upgrade' since our holiday will be a wedding/honeymoon. Didn't go into detail so unsure of what this would consist of? Will another $20 cover it? lol - probably not in Glasgow/London! :-)
No,
You can ask, but the opportunities for check in staff to upgrade are pretty limited and will usually be due to a full cabin. BA tend to award their frequent flyers and there is very little scope for individual discretion to be applied.
You could try asking for a cash upgrade upon check in.

Off in a couple of weeks for our 10 year anniversary and to renew our vows.
Booked the scooter tour and skydive so far and will be taking some time in the old town.
Plan on visiting the Heart Attack cafe to take on a food challenge
Would like to visit a gun range and do a driving experience (NASCAR/Supercar etc), any recommendations?
