Help me plan a 'Band of Brothers' roadtrip across Europe
Discussion
Another road trip required this summer, just a short one - 19th - 27th July.
Was thinking across Europe with a Band of Brothers theme, starting in Normandy and concluding in Berchtesgaden.
Potential areas to stop off at include:
- Carentan (France)
- Eindhoven (Holland)
- Bastogne (Belgium)
- Foy (Belgium)
- Haguenau (France)
If it is felt that the trip is too short, can always be postponed to do it 'properly'.
Would really appreciate your opinions and experiences.

Sounds like an interesting trip and something I thought about after watching it the first time. Does anyone know though how much there is to actually see? Or is it often a case of knowing something happened there but there being nothing to mark it?
Eagles Nest would be on my list aswell, even just for the scenery!

This is a good start http://www.overlordtour.com/overlordtour-tour-3.ht...
I returned from a week in Normandy over the weekend having gone on the trip with absolutely no expectations and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. We found some amazing driving roads everywhere with absolutely no traffic, no cops and only one speed camera. The scenery at times was spectacular and the architecture wonderful. In fact Miss Streetrod and I are seriously considering a holiday home there.
As for places to visit the American D-Day cemetery at Omaha Beach was a humbling and inspiring place to visit, it even bought my ten year old son to tears. As we walked among the graves we were overflown by 3 Euro Fighters plus two other jets in slow formation one of which peeled away in a tribute manoeuvre. It just seemed so right. It’s a must visit location I think

You can follow the Route de Liberte

Maps are available and the route has markers there is a calendar of the progress made and one can assume that Band of Brothers followed this route.
