Hi all

Planning our summer trip, we will be driving through Rouen in September. Is this the sort of place we could occupy ourselves for a couple of hours wandering and a spot of lunch? We will have a dog with us so no museums unfortunately.

Your in France , you can take your dog almost everywhere ! As long as it's well behaved no one will bat an eyelid , I've even seen toy dogs in supermarket trolleys .

I've just found Les Andelys. This looks like the sort of thing, avoid traffic in Rouen, walk by the Seine, Lunch. Then onto our next stop nr Salbris.

I would be surprised (and delighted) if dogs were welcome in Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen.

Anyone know?

We've been to Rouen a few times would recommend La Petite Auberge http://www.restaurant-petite-auberge.fr/ Don't have any connection with the restaurant, our friends who live in Rouen took us there the first time and we've going back every time we visit.

I second this...I commuted to Rouen weekly for a couple of years and this is a fine restaurant.

Its Rouen in Sept...50/50 chance of it being lovely or an absolute lashing down. There isnt really much around there either to be honest, it really is just a passing through point for some fast routes.
