Which exciting place should I go for a short break?
Discussion
Just realised there's a pretty big gap in my travelling schedule in October and November so looking for suggestions on where to go for 4-5 days. I'm a contractor so don't really want to take too many days off (booked my long holiday this year already) but could maybe stretch to a whole week.
Requirements are:
- Somewhere interesting and unusual, been to all the usual European and Asian places.
- Don't mind packed schedules or long road trips, we are young and energetic
- We like natural scenery and local food/culture rather than big cities and museums.
- No beaches or cruises etc.
Would love to do a big South America tour but not enough time... maybe next year!
I'm thinking central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.), anyone got other suggestions?

Does 4-5 days include travelling? If so, then somewhere in Europe.Requirements are:

Been to all of Western Europe and half of Eastern Europe, but after a while it all gets a bit samey... I was looking at Russia but the visa costs £100!!

It was more like a 3rd world country.
Ticked it off the list but not sure I would want to or need to go back.

So in Europe, have not been to: Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria. That's quite a lot of countries actually... but none of them are really that inspiring to be honest.
You want the full set though, surely? You'll be kicking yourself otherwise. Hire a car and just get them done.Romania is great by the way.

Marrakech?
That's a good shout actually.Couple of days in Marrakech, a couple of days to the Atlas and maybe finish with day in Agadir?
Leaning towards taking off a whole week now so potentially have 9 days

Been there already, certainly a unique and interesting experience but not sure I'd ever want to go back.

In which case, why not go further South, to Zambia, and stay in Livingstone for the Victoria Falls / Zambezi / Chobe game park just across the border in Botswana? Truly amazing place, and easy to do (via J'burg) in 9 days.Leaning towards taking off a whole week now so potentially have 9 days

So it's been decided and booked - gonna do a road trip around west coast USA. Not too adventurous I know but the mrs has never been to the states.
Now onto the important questions - Mustang, Camaro or Corvette?
And is Laguna Seca open to the public?
None of the above. When we go we always high the biggest, baddest, tallest 4x4 we can. get the full fat USA experience AND see more sights from your vantage point. Lets face it you won't be driving that fast in the US so fits the bill. Laguna Seca? Google it (Mazda Raceway). Masses of events - you might catch a good one. We did the twilight cycle ride last year. Which is more fun than it sounds! Now onto the important questions - Mustang, Camaro or Corvette?
