Looking for reliable and honest feedback from PH'ers that may have been to Bintan Lagoon Resort Singapore, have looked at tripadvisor but this seems to be a mixed bag, Currently arranging a 3 weeks tour to NZ for 40 15-17yrs plus staff, Tour company are suggesting this as R & R on the way back for a couple of days

Thoughts and comments welcome

Thanks

Used to be a regular 'get away from it' weekend destination when resident in Singapore. As these things go, it's fine, reasonably cheap, decent facilities, nice beaches, good food, great service. Another alternative is Turi Beach Resort on Batam. Tennis, golf, water sports, usual stuff, 33 degrees every day, etc, etc.

Bintan and Batam are Indonesian islands, reached by a fast boat ferry in 35~45mins from Tanah Merah ferry terminal in Singapore (very close to Changi Airport).

Wouldn't be my choice, I have two houses in batam/bantam and I never go there, wife pops down to get the rent, I think the place is a dump, cheap for people from sing and full of cheap people from sing who want to get away from the rules and regulations.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. It was OK but quite remote in that it was not easy to leave the resort to find something else to do. Seeing as you have a bunch of teenagers with you - that might not be a bad thing.

Sounds more like a stressful experience for you than R&R. Herding all those kids around Singapore to the ferry terminal, then on the boat to Indonesia, having to do the immigration thing again, pay $15 USD in cash for each persons visa, then herd them all to the resort on Bintan without losing anyone or having things stolen along the way.

Just wait till they all get their hands on some Bintang and magic mushrooms (legal in Indo)
