Hi, anyone got suggestions for good hotels with secure parking for a trip to the south of France. I'm taking my Ferrari testarossa and want to make sure I can park it at night and not worry about it! I'll probably catch the ferry across to Calais, and would look to try and find a place to stay around Troyes, about 4 hours after leaving Calais. Any suggestions?

Always check on Booking.com to see if it says private parking (not public), and not private parking nearby (must be at the building). Generally most 4/5* hotels will have proper car parks. If in doubt, find one you like, then call up. You'll also need a wide space ! You won't fit in an urban spot where an old Renault 4 normally goes hehe

If you aren't staying at a hotel, you can still pay and use their car parks.

If you're near Marseille then I would definitely find decent parking.

Worth spending the extra for peace of mind.

firstly I would not take the ferry due to loading ramps and also people squeezing past, I would go on the tunnle

then I would be going for more than 4 hours, I would go for www.chezrenard.com/ its nice, they are english and its secure which is about middle of france [ish] so next day you could get to your destination

Going to Monaco, but can't leave until mid morning on first day. So I need a place for an overnight stop. I figured Troyes would work. Any better suggestions, please feel free...!

The Best Western in Troyes has secure parking, I know as we used it for the bikes last year! Its separate from the hotel, five minute walk but its under cover with keypad entry etc.

We stayed here , theres limited parking but very secure

Nice interesting rooms and a pleasant walk into the town centre which has masses of great eating places, we were lucky the Tulip rally was there the time we were so loads of interesting cars to look at.

Wouldn't recommend breakfast there, they didn't seem to have much idea! Otherwise it was perfect

I stopped at Troyes last time I drove to the Alps. Its a nice town but medieval - the hotel I stayed in was bang in the centre and the car park was underneath. It was very tight.

Next time I need a stop over I'm going to go through the Logis de France website. I think with your car I'd be looking for place nicely in the middle of nowhere with good rooms and a good restaurant attached. It'll probably be cheaper than the centre too.

I think you'll attract a lot of attention in your car! My 911 was turning heads.

Novotel Troyes has secure free parking for guests. Fenced and gated.

ETA: press on to Beaune. Only another two hours and will save you time next day. Novotel Beaune has same secure parking. Open air and masses of spaces so you can park it away from the hordes.

We stay at a brilliant little hotel called Le Parc de l'Hostellerie in Levernois a quiet little village a few minutes away from Beaune. Only €85 a night with a big open air private car park in the grounds. Usually has a few high end cars in it so 99.9999 per cent safe. Great restaurant is three minutes walk away. http://www.lagaraudiere.fr but you MUST phone to book.

Another one for this hotel, good garage and lovely suites too.

I've done a few euro trips now and I usually just arrive in a town and then look for a hotel with secure parking, you'll always find some good ones around somewhere and it's nice not knowing where you will end up staying.
